The Teacher Innovation Idea Award recognises educators who have developed and implemented innovative ideas that have made a significant impact on teaching and learning outcomes in the classroom. This award category celebrates the important role that educators play in shaping the future of education, and the power of innovative ideas to transform the teaching and learning experience. 

To be considered for this award:
Educators must have implemented an innovative idea that demonstrates a clear understanding of the needs and challenges faced by educators and students in the classroom. This may include ideas related to classroom management, student engagement, technology integration, assessment and evaluation, or any other area of teaching and learning that the innovation addresses.

Take some time to consider your most innovative work that has made a real difference to the education of your students and to teacher/student life.

We want to make it as easy as possible for students, schools, and classes to participate in the 2024 Young Business Mind Awards.

To participate in the Young Business Mind awards you’ll need to adhere to a few things that we outline in the Terms and Conditions page of our website.

As with any fair competition, if you don’t comply with these terms, we have the right to disqualify you or declare your entry ineligible.

Please make sure you read and understand the information on this page before submitting your entry.

Entry Criteria

To be eligible to enter the YBMA Teacher Innovation Award, you must:

  • Be a teacher or educator within the Hunter Region.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the needs and challenges faced by educators and students in the classroom.
  • Have permission of the school principal to enter.

Judging Criteria

All video entries are judged by a panel of subject matter experts, selected at the sole discretion of the YBMA Management Committee from subject matter experts or practitioners in the category areas.

Judges are required to sign a confidentiality agreement and disclose any conflict of interest.

  • What is the problem or issue your idea is tackling?
  • What is the big benefit of your idea?
  • Who will benefit from your idea and why?
  • Why are you passionate about this idea
